What are memories made of?
1985. In Armero more than 20,000 of almost 29,000 inhabitants died under an unstoppable flow of lahar. This tragedy marked the history of Colombia because of the loss and the institutional negligence.
The trees that have now grown have the same lifetime as this city has as an abandoned one. Today it is a cemetery and untouched Memorial.
The walls of the houses that remain stand with dignity, allowing the roots of the native trees to embrace them. Are these trees, oblivion or are they memory?
Who lives here now: “Life” or “Death”?

1985. En Armero, más de 20,000 de sus casi 29,000 habitantes murieron bajo el flujo imparable de los lahares. Esta tragedia marcó la historia de Colombia, por la pérdida y la negligencia institucional.
Los árboles que ahora han crecido tienen el mismo tiempo de vida, que esta ciudad tiene de abandonada. Hoy es un camposanto e intacto Memorial.
Las paredes de las casas que permanecen , se yerguen dignas, permitiendo que las raíces de los árboles nativos las abrasen. ¿Son estos árboles olvidado o recuerdo?
¿Quién vive aquí ahora: "La Vida" o "La Muerte"?
